Our “soft” launch was amazing!

With the first “official” retreat six weeks away, Bill & I spread the word that we would like to host a few groups who were willing to be our guinea pigs. As an aside, we had guinea pigs for years, and they lived like furry kings and queens, so being our guinea pigs really isn’t […]
Weaving

The news from Limina is not pretty right now as it seems that every room and surface is covered in dust! I choose to think of it as sacred dust as it’s the outward sign of the incredibly hard work that so many people are pouring into the home. (If only that reasoning worked for […]
Reservation system is now live!

This is definitely not the most beautiful picture, but it fills me with excitement! After so many months of logo design, website creation, space clearing, talking with architects, site planners, contractors, and sub-contractors, re-purposing the furniture that conveyed and sourcing other pieces (many thanks to Vicki at Perry’s Furniture), emptying rooms, creating plans to move […]
Meet our new friends at Limina

One of the great joys of this process of birthing Limina is meeting local artists. Today, we traveled to Stone Designs and Granite Gallery to meet Obadiah. We have been seeking special pieces to place on the property as greeters for all who visit Limina. It was very important to us that the sculptures be […]
Surprises every day

Early this morning while I was having my prayer time, Bill sent me a text: “Check out the two eagles on the beach by the fire pit.” What the ?!?!? I jumped up and was able to watch this guy strut around for a bit, before he flew up to perch in a tree on […]
An incredible team … part 1

The first time that Bill and I saw this property with our real estate agent Sandy Knowlton, we fell in love with the land but were overwhelmed by all the TLC that the house needed. Previously used as a wedding venue, the house had seen some hard use but we could sense that she was […]
A table with a history …

Many years ago, I saw a table with a tree-trunk base and loved the interplay of raw wood with glass. Ever since then, when poking in antique stores or outdoor markets, I passively kept an eye out for a similar piece. I was elated to discover this gem on Etsy, and to meet its owner […]
Little by little …

It’s overwhelming and exciting to see every room under some kind of construction. Given the scale of the house and our deep desire to be good stewards of this space and welcome as many guests as possible, we’re creating bedrooms and bathrooms from MASSIVE closets, and dividing an enormous second living room […]
A drastic spin on space clearing!

A major part of the renovation is replacing the floors, which are first generation vinyl “wood” and many of the seams are peeling up. Today I cleared the living room and was surprised to learn that the couches come apart like Legos (all of the furniture conveyed – thankfully!)
