Many years ago, I saw a table with a tree-trunk base and loved the interplay of raw wood with glass. Ever since then, when poking in antique stores or outdoor markets, I passively kept an eye out for a similar piece. I was elated to discover this gem on Etsy, and to meet its owner Old Bob from Vermont. The base is Japanese Cypress and has been lovingly cared for over the years. Old Bob and his late wife hosted many gatherings of friends and family, and he displayed a little treasure in the crook of the branches. I’m continuing his tradition with – you guessed it – alpaca friends from Blue Ranch Alpaca farm outside Belfast. A special piece in a special place – now all it needs is friends and something to eat!
