Anyone need some furniture polish?!? One of my weird but useful super-powers is de-cluttering. Perhaps because it’s harder to see tangible “progress” in most of my life, I LOVE projects that have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Limina was built in the early 2000’s and when the first owner sold the property, she left items in many closets, cabinets, and drawers. The next owner used the property as a wedding venue, so he didn’t have any need to clear out her clutter – and added lots more!
So each visit to Limina, I work through an area and have my three boxes – trash (the 20+ year-old cases of Ensure!), donate (enough serving trays to serve apps at a large wedding), re-use (90% of the furniture that conveyed), and refurbish. Here are two sweet charges that had been destroyed by water and rot in the seat cushions, but were a fun dreary-afternoon project. Peeking out from behind the chair is a spinning wheel from Angels’ Treasures at St. Mary’s, so it’s also lovely to have touches of “home” at Limina. Come and see!
