On April 8, 2024 central Maine will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. We are offering a hiking retreat that weekend, and will take guests on some special hikes near Limina. To view the eclipse, we will travel to the mountains near Baxter State Park where the duration of totality will be nearly 3 minutes.
Bill, the dogs and I went on an adventure to be sure that the hike we selected would be beautiful, manageable in potentially wet conditions, and end at a spectacular viewing spot for the eclipse. Jackpot! A 3-mile, groomed trail with switchbacks to ease the climb and ending with a view of Mount Katahdin. And the icing on the cake is the brand new brewery with wood-fired pizza where we’ll end our day’s excursion. Be sure to sign up soon as this retreat will sell out quickly.
