I was exploring the tidal flats and laughing at Ezzie snarffling, rolling, racing through the water and generally being goofy. I expanded my gaze just in time to see the Eagle who lets us share this land. I think this was the male as he is sleaker and somewhat smaller than the other eagle we regularly see. He was perched on a stone about 20 feet from Ezzie and seemed equal parts curious, disdainful, and perturbed that his peace was interrupted. As he lifted off the rock and flew over the bay, I quickly scooped George into my arms since he may look like an appetizer to this magnificent bird. Among other lessons, Eagle teaches us about freedom and self-expression, lessons Ezzie has learned well!
